Psychodynamic therapy is a school of therapy that seeks to understand the difficulties a person is currently facing through past experiences, relationship patterns and emotions.
This approach looks together at recurring relationship patterns, feelings, and the ways a person thinks about themselves and others. One aim is to make room for noticing how these patterns formed and how they continue in your life today.
How do sessions work?
Each session lasts 45 minutes, and how often we meet is decided according to need. No topic is set in advance. You share whatever comes to mind, and I listen and occasionally offer a thought or a question. We talk about how the process will unfold after the first sessions.
Who might it suit?
- People who notice the same relationship difficulties recurring
- People who find it hard to put what they feel into words
- People who want to understand themselves and their past in more depth
Psychodynamic therapy does not guarantee the same outcome for everyone. We assess together in the first session whether this approach suits you.
